Description

Everyone loves banana bread, so who wouldn’t love strawberry banana bread? It’s like an ice cream sundae.

Ingredients

  • 1-½ cup All-purpose Flour
  • 1 teaspoon Ground Cinnamon
  • ½ teaspoons Baking Soda
  • ½ teaspoons Salt
  • ¼ teaspoons Ground Nutmeg
  • 2  Eggs
  • 1 cup Sugar
  • ¼ cups Vegetable Oil
  • ¾ cups Mashed Fresh Strawberries
  • ½ cups Peeled And Mashed Ripe Bananas
  • ½ cups Chopped Walnuts (optional)

Preparation

1. Preheat the oven to 350 F. Lightly grease or butter a 9-inch x 5-inch x 3-inch loaf pan; set aside.
2. In a large bowl, combine the first five ingredients. Set aside. In another bowl, beat eggs, sugar, and oil until smooth; add the strawberries and bananas.
3. Stir the oil mixture into the dry mixture until just incorporated. Fold in walnuts.
4. Pour batter into the prepared loaf pan and bake in preheated oven for 60-65 minutes or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean. When done, cool for 10 minutes in pan then remove the loaf from the pan to a wire rack to cool completely.

Very tasty. This would be good served warm with a small amount of chocolate drizzled over top with a dollop of whipped cream for dessert. Could even add some chocolate chips. I did add some vanilla to the recipe as it seemed appropriate. I doubled the recipe this time, but if I do so in the future I would not double the nutmeg.
