These are great muffins! Their texture is perfect. I only wish there was more cinnamon flavor to them. I think next time I might do 3 small balls of dough and roll them in the cinnamon sugar mixture and then put them in the muffin pans to get a little more cinnamon flavor in it. I got 22 regular sized muffins out of this recipe.

These were fantastic! And yes, I made about 16 regular-sized muffins, filling the muffin cups almost full. I skipped the final step, and did not mix the balls in the cinnamon sugar, but rather just sprinkled cinnamon on top before baking them. They were so light and fluffy, just like real snickerdoodle cookies!
OH- I also made them without cream of tartar (didn’t have any!) and did not notice any difference.

Holy cowgirl! These were amazing. My 16-yr old said it was the best muffin he’s ever had…I’d say high praise. Thank you for sharing!

These were fabulous! Made them this morning for breakfast with friends, and there isn’t a single muffin left. I will definitely be making these again

Really tasty muffins, very moist. I backed down to 1 1/2 sticks of butter and they were great! Thanks for sharing.

Muffins are DELICIOUS!! Very delicate, light, soft and tasty!! But be prepared cuz it makes way more than 12!! And I thought the batter was wwwwwaaaaaayyyyy too soft to try to mess with rolling in the cinnamon and sugar mixture so I just put it in the muffin cups and sprinkled the cinn/sugar mixture over top, then baked!!!! You need to make these!!!

These are DELICIOUS! Taste just like the cookies, but are very light & fluffy. I used a standard sized muffin tin and got 23 muffins. (Probably would have gotten the 24th out of the batter, but my nephew was eating batter while my back was turned!) Also, my batter was too soft & sticky to have rolled into balls, (should I use a bit more flour?) but I still love how they turned out! Thanks for sharing this recipe, I’ll definitely be making it again!

These are lovely!
I mistakenly added a whole cup of buttermilk, but they turned out just fine. Though, I wasn’t able to roll a ball of dough, rather I dropped it into cups and sprinkled the sugar mixture on top.

Snickerdoodles are my husband’s favorite cookie, so these muffins were perfect for him!

Made these today – so yummy! Super easy and quick too. I got more like 16 muffins instead of 12 like the recipe states. Also, I followed what many of the comments said and didn’t use the liners and jsut sprayed the muffin tin. It worked great! Thanks for the great post!

Just wondering….. have you ever tried these with whole wheat flour? They look soooo delicious.
badgermom on 3.15.2011
they look wonderful, but I wonder. 2 cubes of butter for 12 muffins? is that right?

I want to make these today. What size scoop are you using?
missjen3 on 3.15.2011
These came out wonderful! So Yummy! I substituted 1 cup of the flour for white whole wheat four and used margarine instead. I think I made them a little smaller because the batter made 18 muffins instead of 12. I used my regular sized ice cream scoop to scoop out the dough. Thank you for the great recipe!

I too wonder about the size scoop? And I normally use the large muffin pans. Anybody know how many of them this would make? oh, nevermind::::I’m going to just try it for a work pot luck and let you all know tomorrow.

Thought of my brother when I saw this take on one of his favorites and just had to make them. I whipped ‘em up for a family and friends dinner immediately. I made regular and mini sized muffins. They baked for the same amount of time and both came out great. We preferred the mini-muffins over the regular size, but we’ll eat ‘em either way. Delicious! Thanks!

I, too think I’ll make the mini ones. There’s a gal coming from Germany to teach us glass this weekend. This will be great to have there. Thanks for sharing!!!

These are incredibly good! I just made them and they are disappearing fast!
I used the paper liners – worked well! I sprinkled some sugar mixture in first, then spooned in the batter, then generously sprinkled more on top – (Too much work to roll them, I thought)
For me, the yield was 1 dozen regular size muffins and 2 doz mini muffins.
Definitely will be making these again!! Thanks for sharing the recipe!
