Description

A recipe that yields a perfect treat for any time of the day. Breakfast, lunch, or dinner, the popover is a sure winner.

Ingredients

  • 4 Tablespoons Unsalted Butter, melted
  • 2 cups 2% Milk
  • 2 teaspoons Table Salt
  • 2 teaspoons Sugar
  • 6 whole Eggs, Room Temperature
  • 2 cups All-purpose Flour
  • 3 Tablespoons Unsalted Butter For Greasing Muffin Tins, Room Temperature

Preparation

That’s it. That is all you need to make something so amazingly good. Add the melted butter, milk, salt, sugar, and eggs to a large mixing bowl, and mix until the eggs are nicely beaten. Gradually add in the flour and keep mixing until you have a nice, smooth batter.

Set the mixing bowl aside and let the batter rest for about ten minutes.

Preheat your oven to 400 degrees. During this time, take the room temperature butter and grease your muffin tins, making sure you get the butter in and around each muffin tin. Ladle in the batter, about 1/2 or 3/4 cup in each muffin tin.

Place the tins in the oven and bake approximately 30-35 minutes or until you they a golden brown. You will notice when taking them out of the oven that they rise above the tin, giving them the name they deserve: the popover.

To plate, I decided to lightly brush clarified garlic butter on the top of each one, giving an additional kick to something that was already so delicious. Enjoy, and happy holidays!

My last attempt at popovers didn’t turn out as I had hoped, so I’m eager to give yours a try.

Take care,

I received a popover pan for Christmas so I’ll definitely be trying your recipe! Looks to be scrumptious!

Wow these came out perfectly! This is the first popover recipe I have tried with success. I made a 3 serving portion and came out to 6 perfect popovers. Thanks I will definitely be using this often! I ate it with a honey cinnamon butter I made… what a great breakfast!

The perfect popovers! Fantastic. I’ve tried several other recipes but these top them all, for sure.
There is definitely about 1-1/2 pans worth of batter, and like simplymcghie I only have one muffin tin but that’s okay. :-)

These taste amazing. My only problem was having too much batter for my muffin tins. If you have plenty of muffin tins then you will have no problem at all.
