Description

A simple yet delicious bread recipe. No bread machine required.

Ingredients

  • 3 cups All-purpose Flour
  • 3 Tablespoons Sugar
  • 2 teaspoons Baking Powder
  • 1 teaspoon Salt
  • 1 cup Scallions, Chopped
  • 4 ounces, weight Cheddar Cheese, Grated
  • 2 ounces, weight Parmesan Cheese, Grated
  • 12 ounces, fluid Beer (amber Ale)
  • ¼ cups Butter, Melted, Divided

Preparation

1. Preheat oven to 375ºF and grease a loaf pan with cooking spray.

2. Combine flour, sugar, baking powder and salt in a bowl. Make a well in the center and add scallions, cheeses and beer. Stir until just combined.

3. Spoon mixture into the greased bread pan. Drizzle with 2 tablespoons butter. Bake for 35 minutes, brush with remaining butter and continue to bake another 20-25 minutes or until toothpick inserted in center comes out clean. Cool 5 minutes then remove from pan. Allow to cool completely before cutting.
