Description

This is a great recipe for those who are healthy eaters! Nothing like a delicious flatbread for your pizza! Click on my blog link to see a video on how to roll dough with a rolling pin.

Ingredients

  • 1-½ cup Warm Water
  • 1 teaspoon Sugar
  • 1 Tablespoon Natural Dry Active Yeast
  • 1 teaspoon Salt
  • 1 Tablespoon Garlic Infused Olive Oil Plus Extra For Drizzling Onto The Surface Of The Dough
  • 2 cups Organic Unbleached Whole Wheat Flour
  • 1-½ cup Organic Unbleached All Purpose Flour, Plus Extra For Your Work Surface
  • 2 Tablespoons Dry Oregano

Preparation

Into a large bowl pour the warm water and mix the sugar in. Then add the natural dry active yeast and let it sit there for 10 minutes until it begins to foam up.

Then stir the salt and olive oil into the yeast mixture. Then add the whole wheat flour and the all purpose flour. Stir everything together and it will begin to form into dough.

Pour some flour onto a flat working surface and pour the dough onto the surface. Begin to work your hands into the dough for about 5 minutes until all of the flour from the surface has been absorbed into the dough. Form the dough into a ball and drizzle some olive oil onto the dough. Coat it all over the dough and place it into a bowl. Cover the bowl with a paper towel and let it sit there for 1 hour.

Once the hour has passed you will notice the dough has expanded and risen. Grab a rolling pin and put some flour on it and on your flat working surface to make sure the dough doesn’t stick. Take the dough out of the bowl and place it on top of the flour and begin to flatten it out with the rolling pin.

Once you have it as flat as you would like it, grab a large non stick flat baking dish. Place the dough on top and drizzle some olive oil and oregano over the top and bake it in a 425 degree F oven for about 25 minutes. Depending on how crispy you want the bread would be how long you keep it in the oven.

Note: If you are making a pizza you would have to also put your ingredients on top of the dough and bake it all together at the same time.
