Description

The definition of comfort food made with the famous Krispy Kreme Doughnut.

Ingredients

  • 10 whole Day-Old Glazed Doughnuts
  • 2 whole Eggs
  • 2 whole Egg Yolks
  • ½ cups Sugar
  • 1 teaspoon Sugar
  • ½ teaspoons Kosher Salt
  • ½ teaspoons Cinnamon
  • ¼ teaspoons Grated Nutmeg
  • 2 cups Milk
  • 1 cup Heavy Cream

Preparation

Butter a 2-quart baking dish.

Cut doughnuts into 1/2-inch cubes and spread evenly in the baking dish.

In a bowl, whisk together remaining ingredients and pour over the doughnuts.

Let rest for an hour.

Preheat oven to 350 degrees.

Make a water bath for the pudding by placing the baking dish in a shallow ovenproof pan.

Fill the pan with warm water.

Place in the oven and bake for 70-75 minutes.

Serve warm or cold.

I haven’t tried your particular recipe, but I spent a couple years OBSESSED with mastering donut bread pudding. I just wish people understood how good it is! Unfortunately, custard-type desserts are like Fords. You love them, or you don’t.
