Description

Warm crumbly oatmeal scones ready in only fifteen minutes. Baking homemade bread has never been this easy!

Ingredients

  • ½ cups Old Fashioned Oats
  • ½ teaspoons Salt
  • 1 teaspoon Baking Powder
  • ⅔ cups Flour
  • 2 Tablespoons Butter, Cold And Cut Into Tiny Chunks
  • ½ cups Milk

Preparation

Mix together the oats, salt, baking powder and flour in a large bowl.

Cut in the butter and work with your fingers so the mixture resembles cornmeal.

Pour in the milk and stir only until combined.

Divide into four and pat each sticky ball down on a lined baking sheet. Bake at 475F for twelve minutes, or until golden.

These were great. I doubled the recipe, threw in some cinnamon (we were having a stew with apple cider as a base, so I thought they’d play off each other nicely), and instead of individual servings, just spread it on a pan and cut off pieces when it was done baking. Worked perfectly and was such a quick, easy recipe. Thanks!

My kids and hubby really dislike oatmeal (it’s mostly the texture) and I am always on the look out for recipes to incorporate oatmeal without a ton of sugar. They gobbled this up. I doubled the recipe and added blueberry-infused dried cranberries with a touch of cinnamon. I managed to get one out of the bunch. Another great bonus – it really only took 15 minutes!
