Description

SUPER easy. Kid-friendly, single rise, sweet yummy bread! My kids just love to help with this bread!

Ingredients

  • ½ cups Warm Water
  • 1 envelope (7g Envelope) Yeast (not Rapid Rise)
  • ¼ cups Vegetable Oil
  • ½ cups Cool Water
  • 1 whole Egg
  • ¼ cups Sugar
  • ½ teaspoons Salt
  • 3 cups Flour Plus Extra For Kneading

Preparation

Preheat oven to 375 degrees.

Dissolve yeast in 1/2 cup of warm water in a large bowl.
Add vegetable oil, mix well.
Add cool water, mix well.
Add egg, mix well.
Add sugar, mix well.
Add salt, mix well.
Add 3 cups of flour slowly, while … mixing well!

If dough is still wet or sticky, add a bit more flour.

Either divide into 5 equal parts to use in mini loaf pans or into 15 -20 golf-ball-sized balls to make rolls.

Either way, knead the individual dough balls for 1 minute or so. Put in greased loaf pans or in the case of rolls, on a greased cookie sheet.

Let rise in a warm place for 1 hour. Dough should rise to the top of the loaf pan or more than double in size. Bake at 375 degrees for 20 minutes, and enjoy!

I am looking forward to making this! What a simple recipe! One question though… if I use regular loaf pans instead of the mini’s, how many would I need?

LOL Thats what they call it at my son’s school. He is making his first communion this year, and each year the kids have “Community Day” where they bake this bread to share with their families, and make sandwiches for a local homeless shelter.
