If you are looking for the best Banana Walnut Bread recipe, look no more. This one is with a fantastic cream cheese frosting!

Ingredients

  • FOR THE BREAD:
  • 1-¼ cup Mashed Ripe Bananas (about 2-3 Bananas)
  • ⅔ cups Sugar
  • ½ cups Vegetable Oil
  • 2 leaves Large Eggs
  • 1 teaspoon Vanilla Extract
  • 1-¾ cup All-purpose Flour
  • 1 teaspoon Baking Powder
  • 1 teaspoon Salt
  • ½ teaspoons Baking Soda
  • ¾ cups Chopped Walnuts, Lightly Toasted
  • FOR THE FROSTING:
  • 4 ounces, weight Cream Cheese
  • ¼ cups Butter, Softened
  • 1 cup Powdered Sugar
  • ½ teaspoons Vanilla Extract
  • ⅛ teaspoons Salt
  • Chopped Walnuts, For Sprinkling

Preparation

Preheat oven to 350°F. Line a 9×5-inch loaf pan with parchment paper.

Whisk together bananas, sugar, oil, eggs, and vanilla in a large bowl.

In another bowl, add flour, baking powder, salt, and soda. Fold the flour mixture into the banana mixture. Add walnuts.

Pour batter into the prepared pan. Bake for about 1 hour 10 minutes, until a toothpick comes out clean.

While bread is baking, prepare the frosting. Beat the cream cheese and butter together for 3 minutes. The mixture should be creamy. Add the powdered sugar and beat once again until combined. Add the vanilla extract and beat for a minute more. If the mixture is not thick enough for you, add more powdered sugar. Add salt.

Cover the cooled bread with the frosting and sprinkle with chopped walnuts.
