Description

These soft, tender baked donuts are coated in vanilla glaze and toasted pecans and almonds for texture and flavor.

Ingredients

  • FOR THE DONUTS:
  • 4 whole Eggs
  • 1 cup Milk
  • ¾ cups Granulated Sugar
  • 1 teaspoon Vanilla Extract
  • 1-½ cup Cake Flour
  • 1 teaspoon Baking Powder
  • ¼ teaspoons Cream Of Tartar
  • FOR THE GLAZE:
  • 1 cup Powdered Sugar
  • ½ teaspoons Vanilla Extract
  • 2 Tablespoons Milk
  • ⅔ cups Toasted Pecans, Finely Chopped
  • ⅔ cups Toasted Almonds, Finely Chopped

Preparation

For the donuts:
Preheat the oven to 350ºF. Combine the eggs, milk, sugar, and vanilla extract in a medium bowl. Add the flour, baking powder, and cream of tartar and whisk to combine. Pour the batter evenly into 2 full size donut pans. Bake for 25 minutes, swapping the position of the pans halfway through, or until the a cake tester comes out cleanly.

For the glaze:
While the donuts bake, stir the powdered sugar, vanilla extract, and milk together in a shallow bowl. Make sure to get rid of any lumps. Place the nuts in another shallow bowl. Also, place a cooling rack over a sheet of parchment paper. The cooling rack will help to make sure that if you can’t eat the donuts right away, they will cool evenly, and the glaze won’t cause them to stick.

Once the donuts come out of the oven, drop each one in the glaze and then the nuts. Place the donuts on the cooling rack. Enjoy!
