Description

During the warmer months when fruit (especially strawberries) are in season up here in WI, I make a fruit dip for my hubby and I to snack on. I use this topping/dip with apples, grapes, strawberries, peaches, blackberries … pretty much any type of fruit. This is also great with Nilla wafers and graham crackers. My favorite way to have this is as the topping for my version of Strawberries Romanoff.

Ingredients

  • 8 ounces, weight Cream Cheese
  • 8 ounces, weight Cool Whip
  • 7 ounces, weight Marshmallow Creme Or Fluff
  • 1 teaspoon Ground Cinnamon
  • 1 Tablespoon Vanilla Extract

Preparation

1. Mix all ingredients until well blended.

2. I prefer to chill mine for 30 minutes to an hour before serving, but that is completely up to you.

Note: I have used reduced fat cream cheese and fat-free Cool Whip when making this dip for more health-conscious parties. It is completely up to you on how healthy you want this topping or dip to be. Also, there are other variations out there that use different flavored cream cheeses. For this combination, I would say to season to your liking. You may choose to leave out the vanilla and/or cinnamon if using, say, a strawberry cream cheese. Also, depending on who I am making this for, I will sometimes substitute ground nutmeg or ground ginger for the ground cinnamon. You can also add almond extract or a tablespoon of orange juice or maraschino cherry juice instead of the vanilla extract. Another variation is omitting the cool whip for a richer & thicker topping / dip.
