Description

Here’s a delicious, easy and healthy Hummus recipe using toasted sesame seeds and garlic.

Ingredients

  • 3 Tablespoons Sesame Seeds (or 1/3 Cup Tahini)
  • 4 cloves Garlic, Whole (use 5 If You Really Want A Strong Garlic Hummus)
  • 19 ounces, weight Garbanzo Beans (chickpeas), Drained (reserve Juices)
  • ¼ cups Olive Oil
  • 1 Tablespoon Fresh Lemon Juice
  • 1 teaspoon Kosher Salt

Preparation

In a small skillet, toast sesame seeds over medium heat until golden, shaking pan often. Be careful not to burn the seeds. Set aside.

Add garlic cloves to a food processor and pulse until minced. Add garbanzo beans, olive oil, lemon juice and kosher salt to the food processor and blend until smooth. If mixture is too thick, add 2-3 tablespoons of reserved garbanzo bean juice, tablespoon by tablespoon, until it reaches desired smooth consistency. Add toasted sesame seeds and blend until fully processed. Chill until cold, approximately 1-2 hours.

Enjoy!

I love this recipe soooo soooo much! I used tahini, but next time I will definitely try toasted sesame seeds. I also upped the garlic because I’m in a garlicky mood, but it would have been just as delicious without. Quick, simple and no-fuss, this is a great hummus recipe!

An easy & delicious way to make hummus. I used the tahini, so mine wasn’t quite like it would’ve been if I would have actually used the toasted sesame seeds. Also, I only used one garlic clove and still got plenty of garlic flavor.
