Description

Homemade dough, three cheeses and Italian meats. The perfect football treat!

Ingredients

  • FOR THE DOUGH:
  • 1-¼ cup Warm Water
  • 2 teaspoons Instant Yeast
  • 2 Tablespoons Sugar
  • 1 Tablespoon Honey
  • 1 Tablespoon Olive Oil
  • 3 cups Unbleached Flour
  • 2 teaspoons Salt
  • FOR THE ASSEMBLY:
  • 12 slices Thin Deli Sopresatta
  • 12 slices Thin Deli Salami
  • 12 slices Thin Deli Pepperoni
  • 12 slices Deli Provolone
  • 1 cup Grated Mozzarella Cheese
  • 1 cup Grated Parmesan Cheese

Preparation

In a large mixing bowl (or in the bowl of a stand mixer), mix the water, yeast, sugar, honey and oil. Then mix in 1 cup flour and the salt. Continue mixing in all the remaining flour until you get a nice, soft dough. Knead until dough is soft and smooth, about 10 minutes by hand or 5 minutes with a stand mixer.

Shape the dough into a ball and place in a lightly greased bowl and cover tightly (with a lid or plastic wrap). Place the dough in a warm place and let rise for about 1 hour.

Preheat oven to 425ºF.

On a floured surface, roll the dough into a long oval. Layer with sopresatta, salami, and pepperoni, then cheeses. Roll the long side away from you until sealed. With a sharp knife, slice into 1-inch wide rolls.

Place each roll onto a parchment or silpat-lined baking sheet. Bake for 25 to 30 minutes until outside is nice and golden brown.

Serve warm or at room temperature.

These are fantastic! So good that we now alternate between these and regular pizza which is a nice change.
