Description

There are a lot of seasoned cracker recipes here on Tasty Kitchen, but I guarantee you that my crackers have the most flavor and pack the most punch. This recipe includes spices that the others don’t, and I’m 100% sure that you (and your guests) will be blown away with the unique savory flavor.

Tasting is believing. Try it for yourself!

Ingredients

  • 1 box (16 Oz. Box) Saltine Crackers
  • 1 package (1 Oz. Size) Ranch Dressing Mix
  • 2 teaspoons Crushed Red Pepper
  • 2 teaspoons Garlic Powder
  • 2 teaspoons Ground Red Pepper
  • 1 teaspoon Chili Powder
  • 1-⅓ cup Vegetable Oil

Preparation

Note: For this recipe you’ll also need either a 9×9 or 10×10 container with a tight seal.

Stack the crackers vertically in your container. An important thing to remember is to not pack them tight; leave a little wiggle room. And of course, the bigger your container, the more crackers you’ll make.

Dump all the spices into the oil in a nonchalant, dismissive way. Then mix and make sure that the spices (primarily the ranch mix) are evenly distributed. Clumps are bad!

Pour the mixture over the crackers .

Put the lid on your container and then do a crazy thing: FLIP IT OVER. Let it sit like this for fifteen minutes. Then, you’re going to flip it over again. Every fifteen minutes for an hour, flip the container. You’ll flip it a total of four times.

Bask in the glory of your uniqueness.

For best results:

1. Make the crackers the night before your event.
2. Place them in a new container prior to the event (gunk is not cute).
3. Pair with cheese, sausage or vegetables (like carrot sticks).
4. When people inevitably ask you, “Why aren’t they soggy?” tell them you do not know. Because I don’t know, otherwise I’d share this knowledge with you.

YUM! I do something similar to this and toss it in oyster crackers. But that makes your fingers icky. This looks awesome!
