Description

Soft and warm French brie glistening with honey and sprinkled with sliced almonds that takes 5 minutes to make and bake! Bake a wedge for a luscious appetizer for two or bake a whole round and take it to your next potluck.

Watch out, two of the ingredients are said to be aphrodisiac foods: honey (think honeymoon) and almonds (ignites passion in a woman)!

Ingredients

  • 5 ounces, weight Wedge Of French Brie
  • 2 Tablespoons Honey
  • ¼ cups Sliced Almonds, Or A Handful Or So
  • 1 whole Baguette, Or Crackers
  • 1 cup Fruit, Like Sliced Apples, Grapes, Strawberries, Or Blueberries

Preparation

Place your wedge of brie in the center of an oven safe plate or dish. Drizzle it with honey and sprinkle the sliced almonds on top of the brie and all around the dish. Warm it in the oven until the center of the brie is soft and just starting to melt, about 5 minutes. The almonds will become a toasty golden brown if you place the brie close to the heating element in the oven.

Watch it closely because the brie can quickly melt into an oil-like substance, which you do not want. Slightly melted in the center, but still soft is the desired result. The outer white part of the brie will still be firm.

Presentation:

Place the hot dish or plate on top of a larger, cool dish or platter and garnish with fresh fruit and baguettes slices or crackers.

Enjoy!

I wish I could give this 6 mitts! It was really good! I served this as an appetizer for my sister and a “foodie friend” who we hadn’t seen in months. We all loved it! This was months ago and I planned on serving it again tonight and had to search to find it! Why, oh why, didn’t I review this wonderful dish immediately! It was perfectly gooey and rich and the sweetness of the honey and texture of the almonds were perfect! Definitely a keeper!
