Description

Spinach Dip recipe, similar to that of Cheddar’s! Can also be made low fat!

Ingredients

  • ¼ sticks Butter
  • 1 bag (20 Oz. Size) Chopped Spinach
  • 8 ounces, fluid Cream Cheese
  • 8 ounces, fluid Sour Cream
  • ½ cups Grated Parmesan Cheese
  • ¼ teaspoons Garlic Salt
  • ¼ teaspoons Pepper

Preparation

1. Melt butter in a large saucepan over medium heat.
2. Stir in the spinach.
3. Cook until tender, about 5 minutes.
4. Mix cream cheese and sour cream into the spinach mixture.
5. When the cream cheese and sour cream are blended in, stir in Parmesan cheese, garlic salt and pepper.
6. Cook, stirring occasionally, until thickened, 10 to 15 minutes.
7. Serve warm.

You can also transfer this to a crock pot and put on the lowest setting if you are serving it at a party.

To make this low fat:
Spray pan with cooking spray, and reduce butter to only 2 tablespoons (or 1/4 of a stick).
Substitute out the cream cheese for 1/3 fat cream cheese.
Replace sour cream and switch to reduced fat sour cream.
Use only 1/4 cup of Parmesan cheese.

Please let me know! Greek yogurt is a great sub, as I’m always looking for ways to make things more natural/healthy!

I might try this with 0% fat Greek yogurt instead of sour cream, I’ll post a review and let you know how it comes out. I’ve substituted the Greek yogurt in a bunch of recipes and they’ve all turned out great.
