Description

Super simple jalapeno peppers stuffed with sausage and cream cheese.

Ingredients

  • 1 pound Ground Sausage
  • 10 whole Jalapeno Peppers
  • 8 ounces, weight Cream Cheese
  • ¼ cups Bread Crumbs

Preparation

Pre-heat oven to 350 degrees F.

Start by browning your sausage in a frying pan. I used hot sausage but you can use whatever type you like. While sausage is cooking, slice jalapeno peppers lengthwise. (They should look like mini canoes after slicing). Remove seeds and set aside.

Once sausage is fully cooked, reduce heat to low and mix in cream cheese. When cream cheese is mixed evenly with the sausage, fill peppers with sausage/cheese filling. Place stuffed peppers on a baking sheet and sprinkle with bread crumbs.

Bake for 25 minutes or until tops of peppers have browned. You can broil for the last few minutes if they aren’t browning. Allow a minute or two to cool and then serve. Makes 20 – 24.

I make these and they are wonderful!! I do not use the breadcrumbs but hmm…might have to try it. Usually when I make these I also do mushrooms along with it. I cut the stems of my ‘shrooms and add it to the filling mix. Just stuff the ‘shrooms & peppers. Truly a simple recipe but excellent flavor! The go so fast, guaranteed winner!
