Description

Small bite sized morsels of sausage and cheese is a perfect appetizer for sitting on the couch watching a game! Whether it’s football or golf, these apps will be a hit!

Ingredients

  • 2-½ cups Unbleached All-purpose Flour
  • ⅛ cups Baking Powder
  • 1 Tablespoon Sugar
  • ½ teaspoons Kosher Salt
  • 1 stick Unsalted Butter
  • 1 whole 8 Ounce Brick Of Cheddar Cheese, Grated
  • 2 pounds Seasoned Ground Pork Sausage

Preparation

Mix together flour, baking powder, sugar and salt. Cut in the cold butter with a pastry blender until mixture is crumbly.

Preheat a griddle on the stovetop to 400-425 degrees.

In a large bowl add the grated cheese to the pork sausage and mix by hand. Next add the “flour mixture” and mix in by hand until completely incorporated.

Roll the mixture into small bite sized balls and place on hot griddle and brown on all sides (about 10 minutes or so) or in a large pan over medium to medium high heat. Once fully cooked, remove to a paper towel lined baking sheet or plate to cool. This recipe makes a lot!

Spice it up with some chopped jalapenos or red pepper flakes!

This recipe is great! I used Jimmy Dean’s sage flavored sausage in mine, which added wonderful flavor. I also just used shredded cheddar cheese and it worked fine. Great to take to a potluck!
