Description

A fun, quick snack. Sounds very strange, but once you try it you’ll know why this was always my mom’s go-to treat for me and my friends! This is the basic version, but get creative and use flavored marshmallows, crackers and different cheeses.

Ingredients

  • 12 whole Saltine Crackers
  • 3 slices American Processed Cheese
  • 12 whole Jumbo Marshmallows

Preparation

1. Set oven to broil.

2. While oven heats up, place the saltines on a cookie sheet or jelly roll pan. Top each cracker with 1/4 of a slice of cheese, and then place one marshmallow on top of the cheese.

3. Pop the pan under the broiler until the tops of the marshmallows are as brown as you like them, and the cheese is melty.

Wow, interesting! My dad used to eat velveeta cheese slices sprinkled with brown sugar. Soooo good. :)

I thought my Mom and Grandma were the only ones that ever ate this. They were from Alabama, is this a southern thing or what?

This is one of the oddest combinations I’ve ever heard of! However, it’s so interesting I am going to have to try it!
