Description

I hate spending money on food that is so easy to replicate. Especially when it tastes better than store-bought! Enjoy!

Ingredients

  • 15 ounces, weight Can Garbanzo Beans, Drained
  • 4 ounces, weight Jar Roasted Red Peppers, Drained
  • 2 Tablespoons Tahini
  • 3 Tablespoons Lemon Juice
  • 3 cloves Garlic, Pressed
  • 1 teaspoon Ground Cumin
  • ½ teaspoons Salt
  • ½ teaspoons Cayenne Pepper (more If You Like A Little Spice Like Me)
  • 1 Tablespoon Fresh Parsley, Snipped (optional)

Preparation

In a food processor, puree the beans, red peppers, tahini, lemon juice and seasonings. Process until smooth and slightly fluffy. Refrigerate at least one hour before serving, sprinkle with parsley.

The lemon juice helps, but it’s still a pretty thick hummus. The natural juice in the peppers and beans comes through too.

Quick question for you! I tried making this last night but what kind of liquid do you add to make it smooth? If you drain the beans and peppers, where does it come from? I added water but wasn’t sure if there was a secret!
