Description

Puppy Chow with a fall twist!

Ingredients

  • 8 cups Rice Chex Cereal
  • 12 ounces, weight Orange Candy Melts
  • 2-½ teaspoons Ground Cinnamon, Divided
  • ¼ teaspoons Ground Nutmeg
  • ¼ teaspoons Ground Cloves
  • ⅛ teaspoons Ground Allspice
  • 1-½ cup Powdered Sugar
  • 1-½ cup Mellowcreme Pumpkins

Preparation

Pour cereal into a large mixing bowl.

Place the candy melts in a microwaveable bowl. Microwave for 40 seconds on high and stir. Continue microwaving in 20 second increments until melted. Stir after each heating.

Add 2 teaspoons of cinnamon, nutmeg, cloves and allspice into the melted candy and stir until combined.

Add the candy mixture to the cereal and mix together gently to avoid crushing the cereal. Set aside.

In a large resealable plastic bag place the powdered sugar and remaining ½ teaspoon of cinnamon. Spoon the cereal mixture into the bag and seal. Toss gently until the cereal is coated with powdered sugar.

Pour cereal into a clean bowl. Add the mellowcreme pumpkins to the bowl and toss gently to combine. Alternately, if you are preparing single servings in plastic bags, you can just add a couple pumpkins to each bag afterward.

Makes about eighteen ½ cup servings.
