Description

Grandma’s homemade Chex Mix!!!

Ingredients

  • 2 cups Rice Chex
  • 2 cups Wheat Or Multi-Bran Chex
  • 2 cups Bite-size Pretzels
  • 1 cup Mixed Nuts (optional)
  • ⅓ cups Butter
  • 1 Tablespoon Worcestershire Sauce
  • ¼ teaspoons Garlic Powder
  • ½ teaspoons Salt (as Needed Only)

Preparation

Preheat oven to 250 degrees.

Combine Chex, pretzels and nuts (optional) in a large mixing bowl. Set aside.

In a small saucepan, melt butter over med-low heat, adding Worcestershire sauce, garlic powder and salt (I usually only use about 1/4 teaspoon of salt if I’m using salted butter. Unsalted butter should use the whole 1/2 teaspoon.)

When butter is melted and other ingredients added, mix well, and pour over Chex mixture, stirring as you go, making sure everything is covered in buttery goodness.

Spread mixture out on baking sheet and pop in the oven for about 1 – 1.5 hours.

You can serve it warm or at room temperature, but I like to store it in the freezer, and eat it frozen! YUMM!!!!!

Hmmm … frozen!? That is definitely a different spin on that! I’ll have to try it.
