Description

This is my sister’s mother-in-law’s recipe. These sandwiches are so delicious!

Ingredients

  • 2 packages Frozen Roll Dough, 12 Ounce Packages
  • 12 ounces, weight Cream Cheese, Softened
  • 8 ounces, weight Sour Cream
  • 2 teaspoons Worcestershire Sauce
  • 1 teaspoon Hot Sauce
  • 6 ounces, weight Blue Cheese, Crumbled
  • ½ cups Toasted Walnut Halves, Chopped
  • 3 Tablespoons Olive Oil
  • 3  Large Sweet Onions, Thinly Sliced
  • 1-½ Tablespoon Balsamic Vinegar
  • ¼ teaspoons Pepper
  • 1-½ pound Premium Deli Roast Beef, Sandwich Sliced

Preparation

Prepare rolls according to package directions and cool them completely.

Make the blue cheese spread: beat cream cheese at medium speed with an electric mixer until creamy. Add sour cream, Worcestershire sauce and hot sauce. Stir until blended. Stir in blue cheese and walnuts. Cover and chill at least 2 hours.

Make caramelized onions: heat oil in a Dutch oven over medium heat. Add onions and cook, stirring often for 30 minutes or until caramelized. Then stir in balsamic vinegar and pepper and mix to combine. Remove from heat; cool slightly.

Slice rolls in half. Spread tops and bottoms of rolls with the blue cheese spread. Place roast beef on bottoms and cover with caramelized onions, then place tops on rolls.
