Description

A huge crowd pleasing appetizer. Sure to make you very popular at any party!

Ingredients

  • 3 whole Loaves Of French Bread
  • ½ pounds Butter
  • ½ pounds Sharp Ceddar Cheese Freshly Grated
  • 1 Tablespoon Whipping Cream
  • 1 whole Unbeated Egg-white
  • ½ teaspoons Salt
  • 1 dash Tabasco Sauce

Preparation

Freeze Bread. When frozen, cut crusts off of bread and cut into approx 1″ cubes (no need to be pretty or perfect!)

Refreeze bread cubes.

Cream softened butter with freshly grated cheese (I prefer sharp cheddar – but experiment if you will). Once fully combined, add cream, egg white, salt and a few dashes of Tabasco (not for heat but for flavor). The mix should be completely spreadable.

Remove bread cubes from the freezer a few at a time. “Frost” all but one side of the bread and place un-frosted side down on a plate.

Return full plate to freezer to completely freeze “frosted” cubes. Once all cubes are frosted and frozen, they can be put into bags and stored until needed.

To cook: Preheat oven to 375. Place frozen boxes un-frosted side down on baking sheet and bake for 10-15 minutes until golden.

Sit back and wait for people to love you!

I’ve made these a couple of times with huge success. They take a lot of time to make with all the freezing and frosting and such, but they are worth the effort. Make them on a lazy Sunday, then keep in your freezer until you have guests. They are very impressive and very tasty.
