Description

Maryland Crab Dip: a little spicy, very delicious.

Ingredients

  • 12 ounces, weight Cream Cheese
  • ½ cups Sour Cream
  • 4 Tablespoons Mayonnaise
  • 1 Tablespoon Old Bay Seasoning
  • 1 teaspoon Dried Mustard Seed
  • 2 Tablespoons Lemon Juice (juice Of 1/2 Lemon)
  • 1 teaspoon Worcestershire
  • 1 Tablespoon Frank's Hot Sauce
  • 1 pound Jumbo Lump (or Lump) Crab Meat
  • ⅓ cups Chopped Green Onion, Plus More For Garnish
  • 1 cup Shredded Cheddar Cheese

Preparation

Preheat oven to 375 degrees.

In a large bowl, mix room temperature cream cheese, sour cream and mayo until blended. You can even throw it in a food processor or use the mixer. Add Old Bay, dried mustard seed, lemon juice, Worcestershire and Frank’s hot sauce. Mix well.

Add crab meat and chopped green onion and mix to incorporate.

Transfer the mixture to a oven-proof dish. Sprinkle the cheddar over the top and place in the oven until the cheese is golden and bubbly (about 25 minutes).

Garnish with lemon wedges and green onion. Serve with celery, baguette slices, crackers or pita chips!

This looks great. My mother in law’s version is similar, but uses butter. It is also decadent and delicious. This looks a little lighter:) Will try next time.

Being a Baltimore native I have tried many versions of this dip, your recipe sounds pretty good. I am going to make it for my little girls Birthday.
