Description

An Indian savory snack that is loaded with all sorts of items including spices, onions, chutney, and peanuts, among other things.

Ingredients

  • 2 cups Puffed Rice
  • 1 Tablespoon Mint Chutney
  • 2 Tablespoons Red Chutney
  • 1 Tablespoon Tamarind Sauce
  • 1 whole Small Russet Potato, Peeled, Cubed And Boiled Until Tender, Cooled
  • 1 whole Tomato, Pulp Removed And Discarded, Diced
  • ½ cups Red Onion, Diced
  • 1 teaspoon Garam Masala
  • ½ teaspoons Cumin Powder
  • ½ cups Indian Sev
  • ¼ cups Roasted Peanuts
  • ¼ teaspoons Salt
  • 4 whole Papdis (Indian Crackers), Broken
  • 1-½ Tablespoon Lemon Juice

Preparation

You can find all of these ingredients at your local Indian store, and the chutneys can be made at home.

Start by heating a skillet on medium-low heat. Add puffed rice and gently toast for a few minutes, shaking the pan as it toasts.

To a mixing bowl, add everything but the lemon juice. Gently stir and mix, ensuring that the chutneys are mixed in well. Sprinkle on the lemon juice. Now you are ready to serve.
