These worked out very well. My husband called them more of a "cookie" than a true granola "bar", but I don't care as long as he likes them. And he does. I love how I can make these for my kids' lunches and I know exactly what's in them. I think next time I'll throw in some craisins and sunflower seeds and see how that goes over. Thanks so much!

I am in my third trimester of pregnancy and have been eating granola bars every day for a snack. I finally looked up this recipe and I have the second batch in two weeks in the oven - love them! I also reduced the sugar and all different things each time: coconut, cranberries, almonds, mini choc chips. This is a recipe I will continue to use for a wholesome snack - Thank you!

These are yummy. Just made a second batch. This time I had to sub 1/2 cup quick oats in as I didn't have quite enough rolled oats. Still yummy though. Mine puff up more like bar cookies too. Not sure why. I also used all chocolate chip instead of using any PB chips. I froze some of my last batch and they were great from the freezer. Thanks for sharing the recipe.

very good recipe-thanks! Made just as is, with mini choc. chips and a few M and M's.

Easy to double and make 2 -9x13s at the same time.

Cut and froze single bars in small snack ziploc baggies.

Perfect for a quick breakfast on the go or the mighty deer hunter in the family.;)

Will try nuts and dried fruits or just raisins when freezer supply is empty.

Delicious! Made one batch with the chips and slivered almonds and another with raisins, extra cinnamon and walnuts. I underbaked the raisin batch – but it turned out to be a lucky accident… because the bars taste just like oatmeal raisin cookie dough! YUM. Thanks for sharing this recipe : )

These turned out great! I couldn’t find any wheat germ, but subbing with flour seemed to work fine. I also ended up replacing the peanut butter chips with random nuts from the pantry, but it was still delicious.

Updated to add: I've made these several times now, tweaking the recipe each time. My favorite so far uses 2 1/2 cups oats and only 1/2 cup flour, with chopped pecans substituted for the peanut butter chips. It bakes a bit flatter and to me seems more granola bar-like than cookie-ish.

Had some homemade granola and was looking for a way to make tasty, calorie dense bars for a backpacking trip. Added creamy peanut butter and left out the chips. They were a hit!

I made these last night with my 3 yr old. I measured and he loved dumping the ingredients in the bowl. I love that you can mix and match different ingredients. I made with semi-sweet and white chocolate chips. Tasty.
