Description

Necessity breeds invention. I needed tortilla chips and did not want to make the trek to the store. The following recipe was the yummy result. Leave the tortilla and oil as-is, then play with the remaining ingredients to suit your taste.

Ingredients

  • 1 package (12 Ounce) Tortillas (I Used Whole Wheat But Any Will Work)
  • 3 Tablespoons Olive Oil Spray
  • 3 Tablespoons Lime Juice
  • 3 teaspoons Any Combonation Of: Salt, Seasoning Salt, Garlic Salt, Paprika, Chili Powder, Ground Cumin, Cayenne Pepper, Ranch Dressing Powder, Or Whatever Makes Your Skirt Fly Up.

Preparation

Preheat oven to 350 degrees.

Cut each tortilla into 8 chip-sized wedges with scissors or a pizza wheel cutter.

Arrange the wedges in a single layer on a cookie sheet.

Spray each tortilla wedge with oil until slightly moist.

Combine lime juice with your choice of the spices in a small bowl and drizzle on the chips.

Bake for about 7 minutes. Rotate the pan and bake for another 8 minutes or until the chips are crisp, but not too brown.

Allow to cool and store in an airtight container.

Loved the lime!! This was great. I had already made Health Homemade Tortilla by kgsoutherncomfort, so I used the extras from making enchiladas. Soooooooo good!!!! My kids were sad when they were gone. Thank you for the great and simple recipe.
