Description

This recipe is simplicity itself. My daughter loves this appetizer so I have made it every holiday for many years.

Ingredients

  • 1 package Cream Cheese (8 Ounce Package)
  • 1 teaspoon Dried Dill Weed
  • 1 package Refrigerated Crescent Rolls, 8 Ounce Tube
  • 1 whole Egg Yolk
  • 1 teaspoon Water

Preparation

Preheat oven to 375 degrees (F).

Open cream cheese package and sprinkle the dill weed evenly over the top.

Unroll crescent roll dough and press seams together. Place the cream cheese on top of the crescent roll dough seasoned side down. Wrap the dough around the cream cheese just like you are wrapping a package. Trim away the excess dough. It will only take a little over half the crescent roll dough to wrap the cream cheese. Tuck the ends under to seal.

Place the pastry wrapped cream cheese on a baking sheet, seam side down.

If desired, decorate the top of the pastry with some of the excess crescent roll dough.

In a small bowl, mix the egg yolk and water. Lightly brush the top and sides of the pastry with the egg wash.

Bake for 15-18 minutes, until golden brown.

Serve with sliced apples and pears.

I did a half-batch for my family and it went over quite well! I’ll definitely make it again as a quick and easy appetizer!

Yep! Very good :D
We were not really sure how to eat it… just sort of dug in. Though I used apples and pears… the pear goes really excellently with the dill!
I cut out a little Christmas Tree with a cookie cutter with some of the extra dough and put it right on top. Even put some green food coloring on the tree for decoration.
I think I will use more dill next time.
Will definitely do this one again.
Thanks :D
