When we used to go visit my Great Aunt Maude, she would put out little plates with lace doilies and these buttery cheesy delicious bites. My mom would scold my brother and me for eating them all within the first five minutes but how could we possibly help ourselves? I dug this recipe out of my mom’s recipe binder a little while ago and have started making them again. Yum!
Work all ingredients together until blended and smooth. Divide into four sections; lay each on its own sheet of waxed paper and roll out into 1-inch rolls. Freeze dough overnight.
About 20 minutes before baking, remove from the freezer. Slice into thin “cookies” and sprinkle with either chopped pecans or sesame seeds.
Bake at 350F until golden brown, about 10 minutes.
