Description

I used homemade cheese ravioli, but you could certainly use store-bought. Delicious appetizer to impress your guests with!

Ingredients

  • 24 whole Cheese Ravioli (store Bought Or Homemade)
  • 1 loaf Crusty French Bread
  • ¼ teaspoons Red Pepper Flakes
  • 1 teaspoon Basil
  • 1 teaspoon Oregano
  • 1 teaspoon Garlic Powder
  • 1 teaspoon Thyme
  • 1 teaspoon Rosemary
  • 1 teaspoon Salt
  • 1 teaspoon Ground Black Pepper
  • 1 whole Egg
  • ½ cups Milk
  • ½ quarts Vegetable Oil
  • ½ cups Parmesan Cheese

Preparation

1. Let bread become a bit stale, then make breadcrumbs out of it in a food processor.

2. Add in all seasonings.

3. Put seasoned breadcrumbs on a large plate.

4. Whisk together egg and milk.

5. Dip each ravioli in the egg/milk and then cover in breadcrumbs.

6. Drop carefully into vegetable oil heated to 350F. Be sure to not overcrowd your pot. Give them plenty of room.

7. Cook for 1 to 2 minutes on each side.

8. Carefully remove from the oil to drain on a plate lined with paper towels. Sprinkle with Parmesan cheese while hot.

Serve with marinara and enjoy!

(If you have leftover breadcrumbs, they are excellent for baked chicken fingers.)

Yum, I’m going to have to make these! I’m from STL and I know we can buy these frozen, but where I’m living now – nobody knows of them! So this will be a definite recipe I’m trying soon.

We call these toasted ravioli in St. Louis. We usually use the meat ravioli’s. If you haven’t tried them they are delicious.
