Description

This is my friend Fonda’s recipe for homemade caramel corn.

Ingredients

  • 3 bags (3.3 Oz. Bag) Microwave Popcorn, Popped
  • 1 stick Butter
  • 2 cups Brown Sugar
  • ½ cups Karo Light Corn Syrup
  • 1 teaspoon Baking Soda
  • ½ teaspoons Salt

Preparation

Pop popcorn in the microwave and place in a large mixing bowl.

Boil together butter, brown sugar, corn syrup, baking soda and salt for 5 minutes (rolling boil, stirring constantly; turn back heat once boil starts). Pour over popcorn and mix until coated. Bake at 200 degrees for 1 hour, stirring every 15 minutes.

I made this for a SuperBowl party and it was a hit. It was easy to make. I had to use dark corn syrup and buttered microwave popcorn because thats what I had.
