Description

Easy and tasty potato patty. Perfect as appetizers or vegetable burgers.

Ingredients

  • FOR THE TIKKIS:
  • 5 whole Boiled Potatoes
  • 2 whole Green Chilies, De-seeded And Chopped
  • ½ cups Coriander, Chopped
  • 2 Tablespoons Flour, All Purpose Or Whole Wheat
  • 1 Tablespoon Cornstarch
  • 1 Tablespoon Lemon Juice
  • 2 teaspoons Red Chili Powder
  • 2 teaspoons Salt
  • 1 teaspoon Cumin Powder
  • ¼ cups Oil, For Frying
  • FOR SERVING:
  • 1 cup Yogurt, Beaten Until Smooth
  • 2 Tablespoons Tamarind Sauce
  • Red Chili Powder, For Garnish
  • Cumin Powder, For Garnish

Preparation

In a medium bowl, mash the boiled potatoes using a fork and add the remaining ingredients. Make a smooth mixture making sure everything is nicely incorporated.

Make 20 round patties/tikki’s and set aside for 30 minutes in the refrigerator. (This step helps binds the tikkis together.)

Heat the large nonstick pan over medium flame, brush with oil and place 5-6 tikkis at a time. Let cook for 2 minutes, flip and cook till both sides are cooked and brown in color. Repeat until all tikkis are cooked.

To serve, place tikkis on a flat serving plate. Pour beaten yogurt on it. Pour 1 teaspoon of tamarind sauce over each tikki. Sprinkle some red chili and cumin powder for decoration. Serve hot.
