Description

Little buns are these nice little morsels, packed with some interesting ingredients, wrapped in crescent rolls, frozen, then baked. I was a little skeptical at first, but wow, do these pack some interesting texture, and flavor. They definitely deserve a place on a plate at a party.

Ingredients

  • 1 pound Ground Beef, Uncooked
  • 2 packages (1 Oz. Packet) Beef Flavored Mushroom Soup Mix
  • 8 ounces, weight Can Of Water Chestnuts, Drained And Chopped
  • 1 cup Bean Sprouts, Cleaned And Chopped
  • ½ teaspoons Salt
  • ½ teaspoons Cracked Black Pepper
  • 2 Tablespoons Oyster Sauce
  • 1 whole Small Onion, Diced
  • 4 containers (8 Oz. Tube) Crescent Rolls

Preparation

Bring all of your ingredients, without the crescent rolls, to a large bowl and thoroughly combine. Unfold your sheet of crescent rolls, and cut each triangle in half. Take about a tablespoon of the mixture and add to the center of each halved triangle. Next, begin to fold like a diaper, taking one side over, the other side over, and bringing up the front. Keep in mind that they might not fold completely, but don’t worry to much about that, do the best you can to seal them, without breaking the dough.

Add them to a cookie sheet, lined with parchment paper, and place them in your freezer, or if you are like me, put them outside (I live in Wisconsin), and let them freeze.

You have two options once they are frozen. Place them in a ziplock bag and place in the freezer for later use, or do what I did and preheat your oven to 350 degrees, and cook them on an ungreased cookie sheet for 25 minutes.

Once cooked, remove them from the sheet, let cool for a few minutes, then plate and serve. Trust me on this one, you will not be able to eat just one! These will be great for your next appetizer during a football game, or just hanging out with friends.

These look and sound terrific! They’re so different from any other rolls and I can’t wait to try them!

OK, It’s like 90 degrees with 95% humidity in Milwaukee, so you need to tell me where I can cool off!

Here’s dessert for your l’il buns: take the crescent rolls and place 1/3 of a Snickers or Milky way in each one, wrap and seal, place each fold down in a muffin tin, brush with butter, and bake until golden.

Serve with some ice cold (Wisconsin) moo juice!

This filling is reminding me of the Football dumplings served at Dim Sum, although the wrapping is different. I think these will be a hit with my family! I am going to try this recipe!

This looks like a recipe that my Mom made for the guests at my 10th Birthday party – except those had some shredded mozzarella cheese and sliced green olives in them. These look delicious … I’m going to try your recipe and then I might try the “mozzarella and green olive” variation to see if I can replicate the recipe that I’ve been searching for.

I thought this looked like a great new recipe to try, mixing some ingredients that aren’t usually paired together! I followed instructions exactly, and they were a hit with a few people at the party I took them to, but next time I think I will tinker with the seasonings a bit, as several of us thought they needed a little something extra. Also, I had to cook mine for an extra 10 minutes (probably just a difference in ovens, or something – but I thought it worth noting).

Yum!!!!!!!!!!!!
These are the tastiest savory lil buns I have ever had. Made them today and husband did not want to eat them when he saw what the ingredients were. They smelled and looked sooo good coming out of the oven. We promptly shoved them in our mouths as fast as humanly possible, unbuttoned our pants, and took a nap. In my house it’s a good thing.
