Description

These are delicious! They are good with chocolate added for a sweet kick but are also excellent without it.

Ingredients

  • 1 cup Honey Roasted Peanuts Or Lightly Salted Peanuts
  • 2 cups Oats
  • ¾ cups Wheat Germ
  • ¾ cups Flax Seeds Or Sunflower Seeds
  • ½ cups Brown Sugar
  • ½ cups Honey
  • 4 Tablespoons Butter
  • 2 teaspoons Vanilla Extract
  • ½ teaspoons Coarse Sea Salt
  • ½ bars (3.5 Oz. Bar) Ghirardelli Dark Chocolate, If Desired

Preparation

Crush peanuts in a plastic bag until finely crushed. Mix nuts, oats, wheat germ, and seeds in a baking dish and toast in the oven for 10 minutes. Stir every 3 minutes or so.

Grease a baking dish or use foil in the baking dish. In a saucepan, melt sugar, honey, butter, vanilla, and salt until everything is melted and simmers. Put the toasted oat mixture in a large bowl and gradually stir in the liquid ingredients. If you are using the chocolate, break or chop the bar into small pieces and mix them in. Pour in the baking dish and let cool completely.
