Description

Best granola ever. Packed with coconut, oats, almonds and cashews, the delectable flavor of this granola comes from pure maple syrup and dark brown sugar.

Ingredients

  • 3 cups Old Fashioned Rolled Oats
  • 1 cup Slivered Almonds
  • 1 cup Cashews
  • ¾ cups Shredded Sweetened Coconut
  • ¼ cups Plus 2 Tablespoons Dark Brown Sugar
  • ¼ cups Plus 2 Tablespoons Pure Maple Syrup
  • ¼ cups Canola Oil
  • ¾ teaspoons Salt
  • 1 cup Raisins

Preparation

Preheat oven to 250 degrees.

In a large bowl, combine the oats, nuts, coconut and brown sugar. In a separate bowl or liquid measuring cup, combine maple syrup, oil and salt. Combine both mixtures by slowly pouring the liquid over the oatmeal mixture and stirring well. Divide in half and pour onto two 11×17-inch rimmed baking sheets, spreading out into an even layer on each sheet. Cook for 1 hour and 15 minutes, until golden. Remove from the oven and transfer into a large bowl, slightly breaking up the clumps. Add the raisins and gently mix until even distributed.

Both times I made it, I cooked it just one hour. It was perfect.

This reminds me a lot of Alton Brown’s granola recipe

This is the best! If you’ve never made homemade granola, you will not believe how much better it is than store-bought! And you can adapt it with whatever nuts or dried fruit you like!

We loved it! It is soooo easy to make. I don’t like cashews, so I added walnuts instead. I like to eat it with plain yogurt.
