Description

A delicious and simple retro dip that is perfect for parties. It’s creamy and savory. The mild flavor of the clams is great on a salty potato chip!

Ingredients

  • 16 ounces, weight Cream Cheese, Room Temperature
  • 2 Tablespoons Mayonnaise
  • 4 Tablespoons Worcestershire Sauce
  • 2 cans (6.5 Oz Can) Chopped Clams, Drained But Reserve The Juice
  • ¼ teaspoons Sea Salt
  • 1 pinch Garlic Powder
  • 1 pinch Onion Powder
  • 1 pinch Black Pepper And Salt To Taste

Preparation

In a large bowl, combine the cream cheese and mayonnaise, mixing until smooth (you can use a wooden spoon, but I like to use a hand mixer or a stand mixer). Add Worcestershire sauce, ½ to ¾ cup of the reserved clam juice and stir until well incorporated and smooth.

Add clams, sea salt and season with a pinch of garlic, onion powder and black pepper to taste. Stir with a large spoon to combine.

Place in the refrigerator to set for at least 2 hours.

Serve with potato chips or veggies.

This one IS good — my mom made it for parties back in the ’70s and it’s total nostalgia food for me. It’s just tasty and every now and then I have to have it.
