Description

Who needs nachos when you can have fries! These are seriously addicting.

Ingredients

  • 2 pounds Frozen Seasoned French Fries
  • 1 teaspoon Butter
  • ½ cups Milk (more If Needed To Thin Sauce)
  • ¼ pounds American Cheese, Deli Or Singles
  • ⅛ teaspoons Salt
  • ¼ teaspoons Pepper
  • Your Favorite Chili, Warm, For Topping
  • ½ cups Mexican Blend Shredded Cheese
  • 1 container (8 Oz. Container) Sour Cream

Preparation

Cook fries according to package directions. Bake them if you prefer not to fry them. In a medium sauce pan, melt butter and milk; add the American cheese, salt and pepper. Keep on low heat, stirring constantly until cheese is completly melted. (If sauce is too thick, add more milk 1 tablespoon at a time, stirring until smooth.)

Place cooked fries on a platter, top with chili, then shredded cheese and dollops of the sour cream. Serve warm.

I had this for dinner tonight. It was so good! I’ve never liked the ultra-processed cheese sauces that you normally find on chili cheese fries, so I was thrilled to see a recipe for homemade cheese sauce. Since I didn’t have American cheese, I used a mix of provolone and sharp cheddar. It worked out really well. Thanks for the recipe!
