Preheat oven to 190 C.
Place the whole baguette on a pan and place pan in the oven for approximately 5 minutes. Take bread out of oven and place it on a plate. Cut the loaf of bread in half down the center and then cut each half in half horizontally.
Place a teaspoon of tomato puree on the cut side of all four slices of bread and spread to cover it. Place a half slice of Swiss cheese on each slice of bread. Squirt two lines of American mustard over cheese on each slice (about a teaspoon each). Place a half slice of either ham or pastrami on each slice. Place 3 slices of thinly sliced pickle on each slice of bread.
Place pan back in the oven for around 8-10 minutes. Enjoy!
