Description

By no means is the dish intended to cause a sudden or rapid weight loss. However, you will exercise your jaw muscles considerably.

Ingredients

  • ¾ cups Popping Kernels
  • ¼ cups Canola Oil
  • ½ cups Caramel Sauce
  • ½ cups Cashews (or Your Favorite Nut)
  • ½ teaspoons Salt

Preparation

Preheat oven to 300F.

1. Cook the popping kernels in oil according to package instructions. You can also use microwave popcorn.

2. In a microwave safe bowl, heat the caramel sauce for 30 seconds and stir well.

3. Pour the popcorn on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper. Then sprinkle in the nuts and drizzle on the warm caramel to coat well. Season with salt and toss.

4. Place the popcorn in the oven and bake for 5 minutes. Let cool and serve.

I will have to disagree with bettylou. I will make this recipe again. I did leave the popcorn in the oven for 15 minutes only because I got pulled away by the kids. We only had a little left over and I out it in a ziplock bag. It was gone the next day.

Made this earlier today and I was disappointed. I baked it for 5 minutes as the recipe said, but after it cooled, it was remained very sticky. Not sure how to store it. Should it have been left in the oven longer? I certainly wouldn’t make it again. It’s still on the cookie sheet and I don’t know what to do with it! And the flavor didn’t knock my sox off either! Perhaps the poster of the recipe can give me a clue as to what hers was like, and if the baking time was correct.
