Description

Broiled grapefruit makes a sweet snack or breakfast!

Ingredients

  • 1 whole Grapefruit
  • 2 Tablespoons Brown Sugar
  • 1 dash Cinnamon
  • 1 dash Salt

Preparation

Preheat oven to 400ºF.

Meanwhile, prep grapefruit. Slice about 1/4 of an inch of the top and the bottom of the grapefruit. Then, slice the grapefruit in half parallel to the original cuts. Place the grapefruit on a paper towel so that they drain slightly.

Meanwhile, in a small bowl, combine brown sugar, cinnamon and salt.

Place the grapefruits center cut up on a baking sheet. Sprinkle both halves evenly with the brown sugar mixture. Place the baking sheet in the oven and bake for 15–20 minutes, until brown sugar has carmelized.

Once the sugar has carmelized, remove the grapefruit from the oven, allow to cool for a few minutes and serve as desired.
