Description

I love hummus, and I love black beans. So it occurred to me today, why can’t hummus be made with black beans? This will be your new favorite hummus and it can be made with items you might already have on hand.

Ingredients

  • 1 can (15 Oz. Can) Black Beans, Drain And Reserve Liquid. I Used Reduced Sodium Beans.
  • 1 bunch Cilantro
  • 2 teaspoons Cumin
  • 1 teaspoon Celery Salt
  • 1 teaspoon Garlic Powder
  • ½ teaspoons Cayenne Pepper (or More To Taste)
  • 2 teaspoons Salt, I Used Kosher Salt
  • 2 teaspoons Pepper
  • 1 whole Small Lime, Juiced

Preparation

Drain can of reduced sodium black beans (reserving the liquid) and put them in the food processor. Then add the remaining ingredients and process. If it is too thick, add back some of the reserved juice from the can of beans until it is the desired consistency.

Serve with pita chips or veggies. Enjoy!
