Description

A great appetizer for the holidays or anytime! Fun and quick to make.

Ingredients

  • 6 ounces, weight Boneless, Skinless Chicken Breast
  • 10 slices Bacon
  • ¾ cups Ketchup
  • 2 Tablespoons Brown Grainy Mustard
  • ½ teaspoons Black Pepper
  • 1 teaspoon Onion Powder
  • 1 teaspoon Cumin
  • 3 Tablespoons Pure Maple Syrup
  • 20 Toothpicks For Serving

Preparation

Preheat oven to 425 F.

Line a rimmed baking sheet with aluminum foil or use a non-stick baking sheet pan.

Set your boneless/skinless chicken breast on a clean work surface. Using a piece of waxed paper, cover the top and use a rolling pin to flatten out the chicken breast. Cut it width-wise into strips about 1/2″ thick. Cut bacon slices in half down the center. Wrap each chicken strip with a bacon half and place on prepared baking sheet.

In a saucepan add ketchup through maple syrup. Stir well with a spatula. Heat on medium low heat and cook for 3-4 minutes to mix ingredients. Remove saucepan from heat and use a brush to coat the bacon wrapped chicken strips with sauce.

Place pan in the oven on the middle rack and bake for 18-20 minutes. Remove from oven and put the chicken strips on paper towels to absorb grease. Serve on a platter with toothpicks.

Note: You can use a ramekin with warmed BBQ sauce for dipping, if desired. Enjoy!
