Description

Warm, cheesy onion dip is perfect for any party or occasion.

Ingredients

  • 8 ounces, weight Cream Cheese (Very Softened)
  • 1 cup Mayonnaise
  • 1 cup Freshly Grated Parmesan Cheese
  • 1 cup Minced Sweet Onion
  • 1 Tablespoon Fresh Ground Black Pepper
  • Crusty Bread, Crackers

Preparation

1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees. In a bowl, place softened cream cheese. The cream cheese must be very, very, soft (like spreadable butter) to allow all ingredients to blend evenly together. If your cream cheese needs to soften more, place in the microwave for a few seconds.

2. Add mayo, Parmesan cheese, onions and fresh cracked black pepper to soft cream cheese till everything is mixed thoroughly.

3. Place mixture in ramekins or any oven-safe dishes. Bake slowly, for about 30-45 minutes for all ingredients to cook together. When the top crust is brown, almost burnt-looking, then the dip is ready. The darker brown the crust of the dip becomes, the better the flavors are cooked.

4. Serve with your favorite bread and crackers.

I’m seeing a lot of comments about people thinking it’s too greasy and I’m so surprised! I made it over the weekend and didn’t have a problem with grease at all! I used low fat cream cheese and mayo – maybe that’s why?

I made this for a small scrapbooking event and 2 people who don’t like onions both loved it. My husband and I were fighting over the small bit of leftovers. I made a slight change, I carmelized the onions before mixing in to the dip. Yum!

I think I’m going to have to make this!

I made this for the first time yesterday, and it was a big hit! I did use less than a whole onion… but perhaps I just had an unusually large onion :)

Fabulous !! As with some of the others, I couldn’t get mine to brown enough on top, either. Soooo…the second time I made it, I moved one oven rack up by the broiler. I baked this about 40 minutes, turned my broiler on and moved the dishes underneath it for a few minutes. Perfection !

Really good and super easy. Served it with some homemade wheat crackers and it was a huge hit. Thanks!

I’ve made this for parties so often that I now get requests for it! Everyone loves it, and it always disappears within minutes. And it’s so simple that I can whip it together in minutes! Thank you so much for the recipe!

This was a hit with all ages at my house. I had some roasted corn that I needed to use, so I threw it in as well. It was a little greasy as others have said, but nothing we couldn’t handle considering we ate the entire dish!

This was so, so good! Loved how the sweetness of the onions really came through when the dip was all caramelized and gooey! Will definitely be making this again!
