Description

Asian flavors of sesame oil, lime, ginger, and soy sauce. They are great as an appetizer/tapa but would also be a great main course alongside some brown rice.

Ingredients

  • FOR THE MEATBALLS:
  • 1-¼ pound Ground Turkey (93% Lean)
  • ¼ pounds Ground Pork Country Sausage
  • ½ cups Panko Breadcrumbs
  • 1 whole Egg
  • 1 whole Egg White
  • 1 whole Lime, Zest And Juice
  • 4 ounces, weight Water Chestnuts, Drained And Chopped
  • 4 whole Scallions, Chopped
  • 2 Tablespoons Reduced Sodium Soy Sauce
  • 2 teaspoons Sesame Oil Or Spicy Sesame Oil
  • ½ cups Cilantro, Chopped
  • 1 whole 1 Inch Long Piece Of Peeled Ginger Root, Grated
  • 4 cloves Garlic, Chopped
  • 1 Tablespoon Honey
  • FOR THE SAUCE:
  • ½ cups Reduced Fat Mayonnaise
  • 2 Tablespoons Hoisin Sauce
  • ½ whole Lime, Juiced
  • 1 teaspoon Sriracha Sauce

Preparation

Preheat oven to 500 F. Cover 2 baking sheets with foil and spray with cooking spray.

Combine all of the meatball ingredients in a large bowl. Mix well with your hands until the ingredients are evenly distributed. Using about 3 tablespoons of the mixture per ball, roll the mixture into meatballs. Place the meatballs on the greased cookie sheets and continue until you have used all of the mixture.

Bake in the preheated oven until cooked through, approximately 15 minutes.

The perfect pairing for these Asian Turkey Meatballs is hoisin dipping sauce. Combine ½ cup of reduced fat mayo with 2 tablespoons of hoisin sauce, the juice of half of a lime and a teaspoon of spicy sriracha sauce.
