Description

Apple chips baked in the oven with spices.

Ingredients

  • 2 whole Large Red Apples
  • 1 teaspoon Nutmeg
  • 1 Tablespoon Sugar
  • 1 Tablespoon Cinnamon

Preparation

1. Preheat your oven to 200 F. Spray a baking sheet with non-stick cooking spray and set aside.
2. Using a sharp knife, thinly slice your apples cutting straight through the core. (They need to be cut thinly or it will take longer for the apples to bake.)
3. In a bowl toss together your nutmeg, sugar and cinnamon. Place your apple slices one at a time in with your sugar and spice blend and flip to coat both sides.
4. Place your apples on your prepared baking sheet. Bake at 200 F for 2 hours. Flip them over after the first hour. Cool and enjoy.

I like the technique used, but I feel that way too much cinnamon was used in this recipe. I used a mandolin to slice the apples and they came out perfectly crispy, thank you :-)
