Description

Dip your apples or other fall fruits in this yummy peanut butter concoction! Known and loved by the Amish of Lancaster Coounty.

Ingredients

  • 1-¼ cup Brown Sugar
  • 1 cup White Sugar
  • ⅓ cups Molasses Or Corn Syrup
  • 1 cup Water
  • 20 ounces, weight Peanut Butter
  • ¾ cups Marshmallow Cream

Preparation

Combine the first four ingredients in a saucepan and boil for 2 to 3 minutes. Remove from heat and allow to cool for 15 minutes. Add peanut butter and marshmallow cream and stir, stir, stir!

Keep refrigerated, and allow to sit at room temperature before using.

Ramona, I imagine that this would not need to be refrigerated, but it might change color and texture if not.
Not sure why yours was white?

I tried making this because a friend game me a small bowl of what she said was amish peanut butter at Christmas this year. Mine turned out white looking and hers was more just like peanut butter but with a much sweeter taste. She didn’t store it in the fridge which scared me when I realized this was to be stored cold. Have you heard of any other recipes for this or can you tell me how it looks after it sits for a while? Like I said, mine was just like a marshmellowy spread. thanks!
