You know everyone’s coming hungry, so give ‘em something creamy and satisfying to munch. Roasted Red Pepper Baked Ricotta is just that. Make the red pepper mixture and crostini in advance for easy assembly.

If you were ever to decide to take a break from regular mashed potatoes, this would be a pretty stellar alternative. Cheesy Scalloped Potatoes with Pancetta. Yum, right?

There are plenty of smooth, creamy foods on the table, so it’s always nice to introduce more texture. With spinach and cranberries, this Butternut Squash Wild Rice covers a lot of bases.

Pie is the default dessert of Thanksgiving, but it’s great to mix it up with another option, like this Apple Cake. Gorgeous!

We’ve been eating so much cauliflower, broccoli and brussels sprouts lately, thanks to the husband stopping at the local farm stands in Eastern Long Island. I’m cutting them out completely from the menu this year. Also my son asked to cut the carrots and string beans this year and asked for my roasted fennel. So were left with garlic mashed potato, sweet potato packages, stuffed mushrooms, roasted fennel, stuffing and gravy. Dessert – apple crisp, rice pudding and gluten free chocolate chip cookies. Happy Thanksgiving all, enjoy your time with the family.

my favorite holiday cocktail:

Scarlett O’Hara

2 ounces Southern Comfort
Dash of lime juice
Cranberry juice
Lime wedge for garnish

1.Pour the Southern Comfort and lime juice into a collins or old fashioned glass filled with ice.
2.Fill with cranberry juice.
3.Garnish with a lime wedge.
Enjoy!

Oh how plumpcious!
We do the usual turkey, potatoes, gravy, stuffing, green beans, rolls and pumpkin pie. Nothing fancy, only deliciousness. My mother is an excellent cook. I might add something new for dessert though. Happy Thanksgiving!
